Educaching ~ What is it?

Have you ever heard of Geocaching? I'll bet your techie kids have!

"Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking
treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location
using GPS technology and then share the geocache's existence and location
online. Anyone with a GPS device can then try to locate the geocache. "

Educaching is similar but is done from a homeschool/classroom approach.

"The Educaching® curriculum incorporates GPS technology in the classroom. In the
spirit of Geocaching, this GPS based curriculum includes lesson plans that fully
integrate all subject matter while featuring math, science and technology."
Educaching:
*Takes the classroom out into the world
*Encourages teamwork and critical thinking
*Can be used in math, science, history or for physical fitness

This program takes you through the lesson plans step by step which is great for non-techies like me! Like most moms, I can do a little bit techie but geo/educaching might be a stretch! With this Educaching program and a GPS, all things are possible! Not only will you/they be using modern technology but it takes plenty of brain power to make it happen!

This program not only walks you through the lessons step by step but also provides all of the definitions and geo/educaching lingo ~ Like: cache, field sheet, trackpoints and waypoint. I was given a free copy of Educaching to review for TOS.

The lessons come in 3 different levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced.
Some titles are:
*Cause and Effect
*Finding Perimeter
*Dino Discovery
*Light and Sound Race
*Search and Rescue

I love, love, love the idea of getting my kids out of our 4 walls and into a hands on project! Educaching is a wonderful way for them to work together and develop their leadership capabilities.

You can purchase the electronic download of Educaching for $32.
