Learn to Speak and Understand Latin American Spanish with Pimsleur Language Programs

4 CD set
Lessons 1-8
4 Hours of Spanish lessons

Price:  $19.95

From Pimsleur:
"On the surface, the Pimsleur Method is a way to begin speaking and understanding a foreign language effortlessly. In fact, it is a dynamic combination of techniques that will pull you inside a language allowing you to engage in complex conversations with confidence and fluency."
I love to use these CD's for Spanish.  The boys do well just sitting down at the table for a lesson.  What I really like to do is to put the CD lesson on the stereo and let everyone go about their day.  It's amazing how much Spanish sticks in their heads (and mine).  As they are playing their video games, walking around doing chores, or playing with the dog, they are repeating what the teacher says on the Spanish CD!

This CD set would also be good to play in the car.  It's amazing how kids can learn that way.

Sample lesson available here:  Homeschool Spanish

I give this product 3 1/2 out of 5 stars!

Do you have a Spanish curriculum yet?

You may want to check out Step by Step Spanish.  It's a complete home study curriculum - DVD.

I will be reviewing this DVD in the coming weeks and will post my findings.

Price: $47 (includes shipping)

"A three module (3 PDF Manuals + 97 MP3 audio lessons), step-by-step  course that will enable the student to understand spoken and written Spanish; it will also allow you to actively engage in conversations with an abundant vocabulary of several thousand words. The Basic "Step by Step" Spanish Course is  primarily geared to conversational Spanish, and is usually the first course you should used in most language studies. It is more holistic and intuitive, and is focused not on grammar and written Spanish, but on practical "real life" speech and conversation."

Free Homeschool

I get on The Homeschool Freebie every once in a while and find some great free resources.  Last week, I got on and found this: PASS.

These PDF books are from Florida and are F-R-E-E, free.  These are NOT Christian books.  I do plan on checking out the Spanish and the Algebra.

You can email them and ask for the code for the teacher copies of the books.  You may want to mention that you are a homeschooler.  They were very generous!

If you know someone who is studying for their GED this may help them also.

Free Curriculum

I received an email for Head of the Class today so I would share it with you.

Foriegn Language - Spanish

Hola! Como estas? The Espressos have been taking Spanish at our homeschool co-op. This couldn't have come at a better time. The Espressos are so excited and eager to learn. I have NEVER seen them this eager to learn anything!

In the past few weeks, they have learned the Spanish alphabet, colors and numbers up to 29. It is so much fun for me to work with them during the week. Of course, I learn too!

Here are some GREAT games to help kids learn some basics in Spanish: Quia Spanish

Buenas dias!!!!!
